USSF Coaching Course in Spain

"Every culture has traits and characteristics that define their style of play based on traditional values," Alfonso Mondelo, the MLS Director of Player Programs, remarked following the USSF Coaching Course in Madrid and Barcelona. "It is always interesting to see how the game is entrenched in the culture of a country and it helps coaches recharge their batteries and get some fresh ideas, and at the same time reinforce their own views and values."

Mr. Mondelo's observations on his and other coaches' experience during the USSF Coaching Course, running from March 17th to March 24th, reflect a growing desire for continuing education among the coaching ranks in America. The USSF Coaching Course, presented by eSoccer on behalf of U.S. Soccer's Coaching Department, offered an extensive immersion in the methods and techniques that have allowed soccer in Spain to flourish.
